5Y - Thames Explorer

Year 5 have been learning about rivers in geography and the Tudors in history. This visit allowed us to combine those topics and learn more about each. We travelled to Greenwich and worked with the Thames Explorer trust. We studied the River Thames, making notes about its appearance and the direction it flows in. We learnt about the geographical terms 'source' and 'PHD levels'.

We also got to dig along the river bank, looking for artefacts from Henry VIII's palace. We enjoyed exploring and finding segments of items trying to guess what they may once have been.
