Archery Tournament
On Tuesday 11th November, children from our archery club made the short journey to St Joachim’s for our third inter-school archery tournament. Having previously lost one and won one, this match carried extra significance as the decider for who could claim bragging rights as the top archery club.
The first round was as close as they come, with St Helen’s scoring 79 points—just four ahead of St Joachim’s 75. While St Joachim’s performance stayed consistent in the second round with 77 points scored, St Helen’s quickly settled into the new surroundings and equipment, pulling ahead to an unassailable lead. They scored an impressive 151 points in the second round, securing a final victory of 152–230 to St Helen’s.
A standout performance came from Fredrick, who achieved an unprecedented 36 points, making him the highest-scoring archer of the entire tournament. Every St Helen’s archer contributed points, helping the team secure their second win over St Joachim’s.
We look forward to a rematch in the summer term!
