As an ex St. Helen's pupil, I returned to work at my childhood school as a Teaching Assistant in RY in 2017. I completed my degree whilst working with the eventual ambition of becoming a class teacher. St. Helen's supported me through this journey with their LETTA partnership, where I gained my QTS. I then completed my ECT years in Reception with further support from LETTA and St. Helen's. I have also continued to work with the LETTA partnership by becoming a LETTA mentor, whereby I am trained to coach and advise future teachers that take their placement at St. Helen's.

I became an English shadow in my ECT+1 year whereby I learnt leadership skills through the previous subject leader; how to organise educational visits or how to manage a budget and implement new initiatives, such as our current phonics programme. This experience led to me eventually becoming an English subject leader, where a number of CPD opportunities have developed my current practice; CLPE, English Hubs, Lead London and LTE networking and training meetings to name a few.

I have also gained a CCRS certificate which has heightened my knowledge of Catholic life at St. Helen's. I also generally learn a lot from all of my colleagues and their own CPD, as information and skills are shared in a motivating and supportive environment, a culture specially fostered at St. Helen's which makes it an exceptional place to progress, learn and develop in confidence.
