Staff Development

Continual Professional Development (CPD) at St Helen’s

At St Helen’s, we are committed to developing our staff to be the very best they can be, ensuring that every child benefits from high-quality teaching and support. We recognise that investing in our people is the most effective way to drive pupil success.

We are proud to be a strategic partner school within the London East Teacher Training Alliance (LETTA). As members of the strategic board, we play a key role in shaping vision and delivering high-quality training, as well as hosting trainee teachers. Our subject leaders and leadership team also benefits from a wide range of professional development and leadership programmes through this partnership.

In addition, we work closely with the Partnership Learning SCITT (PLS), supporting trainee teachers and contributing to the sharing of effective practice across schools.

We are also active members of the Tower Hamlets Education Partnership (THEP), which provides extensive opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and school improvement.

Every member of staff at St Helen’s shares a strong commitment to supporting children’s learning. We value our staff as our most important resource in driving pupil progress and take a strategic, supportive approach to professional development. There are many examples across the school of colleagues who have grown and progressed in their careers through these opportunities.

Our commitment to continuous professional development is evident in every classroom. Its impact can be seen not only in the quality of teaching and learning, but also in our strong staff retention rates and consistently positive staff feedback.

We have collated some examples of how our staff have developed on their journeys at St Helen’s.
