Ragged School Museum
To help with their learning in History, Year 5 went to the Ragged School Museum, where they learned lots about what it was like to be a child in the Victorian Period.
On the trip the Year 5’s looked at a reconstruction of a room that would fit 8 people in and the typical day for a child in Victorian Britain. They also had a Victorian lesson with a Victorian teacher (actress) where they learned what Victorian children would have learned and participated in the lesson like Victorian children. They all learned a lot and particularly enjoyed seeing all the different tools teachers would use in the classroom at that time.
