Brentwood Citizenship Award

This year Nellie in year 4 was nominated for this award. She attended the ceremony with her best friend.
Nellie is a kind, thoughtful and responsible member of our school community. She consistently shows outstanding care and consideration for others, particularly a boy in her class who has autism. Nellie takes the time to support him throughout the school day, helping him to use his core board to communicate and ensuring he understands what is happening now and what will happen next. Her patience, empathy and willingness to help enable him to feel included, confident and supported. Nellie demonstrates true citizenship through her compassion, respect and commitment to making sure everyone feels valued and able to participate. She is an excellent role model for her peers and is thoroughly deserving of this award.
