Executive Functioning

We have extended our impact beyond our own school by sharing our expertise in executive functioning through IQM Cluster Days and formal peer reviews. Through collaboration with colleagues across including Star Primary School and St White's Primary School, we have contributed practical strategies, effective approaches, and reflective practice that support inclusive provision and improve outcomes for pupils.

We have 5 Executive Functioning coaches at St Helen's through the Mindsparks accreditation programme; Miss Doherty, Miss Orwell, Miss van Biljon, Mrs Cook and Mrs Man.

Mrs Orwell has worked closely with Mindspark to share our school’s journey with Executive Functioning, helping to inspire and support other schools in developing their own practice within this area.

"Hi Mary,

Thank you for being such an important part of our celebration event and School Award Launch. It was a beautiful evening, and we are incredibly grateful to you for sharing your time, insights, and expertise with our community.

The feedback from our guests has been fantastic, and your contribution to the talks was invaluable in showcasing the impact of executive functions. We could not have done it without you.

Thank you again for your support and for being a vital part of our community.

Best wishes,

Tamara Valerco"

“What an amazing room of inspirational change makers. It was so wonderful to hear how MindSpark is making such a meaningful change in schools and families with their whole school approach.”

“I knew they were hugely passionate about what they do, and I could see that their executive function coaching was helping so many people engaged with it.”

“In education, we often see young people complete interventions but struggle to apply those skills…MindSpark is helping to bridge that gap by equipping young people, families and professionals with practical tools that create lasting change.”

“I was particularly inspired by their commitment to support parents and carers, especially those from disadvantaged, neurodiverse and ethnic minority backgrounds.”

“I took a great deal of inspiration from the event and feel that I now have a much clearer sense of direction after seeing how others have applied their coaching skills and knowledge.”
